Whether you spend a few days or a week in Chamonix, there are some places that are unmissable. For more than 100 years, the Chamonix-Mont-Blanc Valley has been inviting you to discover the sites that have made it world famous. Breathtaking views, authentic places, marvellous nature... Go and discover the most beautiful sites of the Mont-Blanc valley!

The Mont Blanc massif

Divided between France, Switzerland and Italy, the Mont Blanc massif is home to the most beautiful and highest peaks in Europe. It is not for nothing that the town of Chamonix is nicknamed the mountaineering capital of the world!
Wherever you are in the Chamonix valley, you can look up and see the majestic Mont Blanc, at 4,810 metres. But that's not all: the Glacier des Bossons, the Aiguille d'Argentière, the Grandes Jorasses, the Dent du Géant... The Chamonix-Mont-Blanc valley has thousands of snow-covered wonders and summits to look at (or to climb!).

In short, we've searched hard, but we haven't found a better place to recharge our batteries yet!

TheAiguille du Midi is THE place to see at least once in your life! The starting point of numerous mountaineering races and of the mythical Vallée Blanche, the Aiguille du Midi offers a breathtaking 360 degree view of Mont Blanc and the French, Swiss and Italian Alps. A change of scenery guaranteed!
Step into the void, the highest museum in the world, hypoxia bearing... there is more to discover at the summit than just the view. From here, you can even reach the Pointe Helbronner in Italy thanks to the Panoramic Mont-Blanc, which offers you a unique journey at over 3,000 metres above the glaciers.

The Sea of Ice

There are some authentic places that you just can't get enough of. Hop on the famous little red cogwheel train for a journey through time and discover the mythical Mer de Glace. At the Montenvers station, at 1,913 metres, you can admire the view of the mountains and descend into the bowels of the glacier. Take the gondola from the Montenvers station to access the Mer de Glace glacier and visit the man-made ice cave!

Le Brévent

The magic of Mont Blanc. From Chamonix, a cable car takes you to Planpraz at 1,999 metres. Then a cable car takes you to the top of the Brévent. In summer and winter alike, the Brévent offers a splendid view of the entire Mont Blanc chain. In addition, the southern balcony of the Chamonix valley enjoys ideal sunshine!

The White Lake

The Lac Blanc is Chamonix's legendary hike that offers breathtaking views. Situated at an altitude of 2,352 metres in the heart of the Aiguilles Rouges, facing the Mont Blanc chain, the Lac Blanc is famous throughout the world thanks to the reflections of the Mont Blanc massif in its crystal clear water.
For the more sporty, the ascent can be made from the Col des Montets or Tré-le-Champ. For those who are new to the mountains, it is better to start from Praz de Chamonix by the Flégère cable car. There will be about 1h30 of walking left.
But no matter how you get there, the view from the mountain is magnificent!
